Several years ago, while living in Conyers, Georgia, Karen Keaton—an Evangelism Trainer in the Georgia-Cumberland Conference—received a lead from Bible Research about a man who lived within driving distance of her area. Acting on that lead, Karen and a local church member made the trip, about an hour away, to visit Richard Salise.
During that initial visit and in the months that followed, Karen continued to minister to Richard by providing Adventist literature, Bible studies, prayer support, and occasional financial assistance during times when he was in serious need. Richard would often reach out by text, asking for prayers or requesting additional Bible studies. Although Karen desired to visit more frequently, the distance made it difficult.
Around that time, one of the elders from the Conyers Adventist church relocated closer to where Richard lived. Recognizing God’s providence, Karen later contacted Elder Bauers and asked him to follow up with Richard. He did—and the ongoing ministry bore fruit. Karen recently learned that Richard was baptized several months ago at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Eatonton, Georgia. Richard had previously shared his desire for E.W. Dempsy to be present at his baptism, so this joyful news may have already been known to others involved.
Just last week, Richard sent Karen a video of himself singing at the Eatonton Adventist Church. Seeing him now actively serving and praising Jesus moved Karen deeply, and she could not help but praise the Lord and share the testimony.
This experience is a powerful reminder of how God often uses many people, over many years, to reach one soul. The journey began with Bible Research sending lessons—possibly 10 to 15 years ago—continued with follow-up by a Bible worker, then with elders and local members ministering faithfully, and ultimately led to baptism and active service in the church. Today, Richard stands at the front of the church, singing for Jesus.
Let this this testimony serve as an encouragement, affirming that God still works through Bible Research teams, Bible workers, elders, and church members together to reach many souls for His kingdom. God is faithful—and still very much at work.
