Jimmy's New Life

A few days ago, I had a special couple in my office. They've been working together for decades in the ministry of sharing the Gospel of Jesus with thousands across the United States, but their particular emphasis is in Georgia and Tennessee. They are E.W. Dempsey and his wife, Beth Ray. E.W. has served the GCC for many years, and Beth Ray has been his greatest supporter, volunteering her time for hands-on evangelism. They offer online Bible study videos and lessons, which they mail to hundreds of people monthly. They shared many fascinating experiences about people finding Jesus as their Savior. Here is just one about Jimmy, whose life was changed through the Bible studies with E.W.  Jimmy, a resident of Aiken, South Carolina, had lived a rewarding life, including ten years as a  dedicated paramedic. For two decades, Jimmy had been part of a study group led by the late  Dr. Charles Stanley, a well-known Baptist minister. Those years deepened his faith and gave him  a...

Revelation Seminar in Crossville, TN

Pastor Mario Reategui delivers a message of hope to the Crossville, TN community through the nightly “Unlocking Revelation” seminar. He believes that the Book of Revelation offers hope-filled answers to life’s most profound questions and prepares people for the soon return of Jesus. Attendees are invited to sit at round tables where group leaders assist them in finding answers to their questions and provide additional materials. Each evening, guests enjoy a light dinner and popcorn, creating a welcoming ‘home-like’ atmosphere. A brief video health talk precedes the main study presentation. Pastor Mario’s studies consistently attract participants from the local community. I was invited to sit at one of the round tables where Chris led the discussion following the main presentation. One participant shared fascinating stories from his life, including his work at the American Embassy in Moscow, Russia, during the early 90s. Below is a photo of the two of us together.  Additionally, Pas...

The Prophecies of Hope in Augusta

Augusta First SDA Church is deeply committed to evangelism. Pastors Daniel Romanov and Jostle Lache are currently leading the impactful "Prophecies of Hope" series. The series, which includes double presentations on some nights with interludes of snacks and special music, is not just a learning opportunity but also a chance for guests and church members to connect and form lasting friendships. Pastor Daniel and Pastor Jostle have tried to involve every possible outlet in spreading the word about the seminar. Daniel created a separate webpage specifically dedicated to the event, where people can find helpful information about the meetings. They mailed brochures to thousands of homes, placed ads on digital billboards, and even used the local FM station. They were happy to see close to forty visitors on the first night of the meetings, with over twenty now attending regularly. During the first night of the meetings, a visitor was so overwhelmed by the powerful message of biblica...

South Bay Health Evangelism

“We have come to a time when every member of the church should take hold of medical missionary work.” 2T 62. Here is a call for Total Member Involvement. Fortunately, there are all sorts of ways to be involved in medical missionary work! Up to date, scientifically valid information shared by health professions is helpful. But even more important, optimal health evangelism emphasizes spiritual power as the only long-term guarantee of success. Health evangelism is also the easiest way to help every church member learn to make lasting friendships with nonSDAs. Small groups and mentor/mentee relationships naturally develop around discussion of shared interests in health.  At SouthBaySDA we’re blessed with a variety of programs. Dinner with the Doctor, a monthly meal and lecture following the lead from our mother church, East Ridge, is always enjoyed. Weekly programs are more intensive and problem focused. Our January-April “Best Weigh” program focuses on the public health proble...

A Great Gift Book

Here is a book I highly recommend for pastors and anyone interested in evangelism. The book is written by the author, whom I've known personally for many years since the exciting evangelistic meetings in Moscow in the 90s.  Mark Finley's four decades of Bible study and evangelistic preaching are evident in this easy-to-understand and comprehensive introduction of two of the most important prophetic books in our modern world.  Understanding Daniel and Revelation is also a great gift book for people attending a prophecy seminar or baptismal class. The prophetic revelations of Daniel and Revelation are filled with hope for honest-hearted people seeking to understand the challenging times we live in. This book uplifts Jesus and walks the reader through a chapter-by-chapter exploration of Daniel and Revelation.  ___________ Peter Kulakov

"Why, God?" Bible seminar in Chattanooga

After over a year of preparation, ten Seventh-Day Adventist churches of the Chattanooga area came together to present a five-day Bible Seminar in a Conference Center on Lee Hwy near the busy mall. The main theme of the meetings was "Why, God?" Dr. Clouzet, a well-known evangelist, pastor, and writer, was the speaker.  It was heartwarming to witness the active involvement and support of the lay members of the local churches. They were there early every night, helping with parking, greeting at the doors, assisting with registration, and guiding as row ushers.  After these five meetings, participants were invited to join the Astonishing Discoveries in the Land of the Bible seminar, which will start on September 11. Here are some photos I took on the first night of the meetings.  ________ Peter Kulakov
